The ISO8573-1 compressed air standard promulgated in 1991 has been revised in 2001 to pay more attention to the requirements of air purity for strict applications. The revised standard establishes a more comprehensive measurement method, which includes all three forms of air compressor oil contamination – aerosols, vapors and liquids. The new standard reflects the quality of the air more realistically. On the basis of the existing one to five purity, a more stringent grade emerges: ISO8573-1CLASS0.
