Bosch Group has introduced two low G acceleration sensors , SMB431 and SMB433, for vehicle chassis control applications. This is also the world's first low-G acceleration sensor that conforms to the external sensor interface standard PSI5 (Peripheral Sensor Interface). The main function of the SMB431 low G acceleration sensor is to record the vertical axis of the vehicle. The measurement range is ±1.6 g (where the G value is calculated as 1 g = 9.81 m/s2). The SMB433 low G acceleration sensor is used to measure the tire. Acceleration parameter in vertical direction, measuring range 16 g. The two MEMS (Micro Electromechanical System) sensor architectures are specifically designed for dynamic suspension systems to reduce the undulations caused by tire loads and assist the vehicle in stopping on the road. Both sensors have all-digital signal processing capabilities and use a digital, dual-constrained PSI5 interface. This type of interface provides a fail-safe signal transmission device with programmable features that can be used to control the system. The PSI5 interface also reduces the complexity of the construction by reducing external wiring and sensor cables. Currently two new sensors have been put into sample production.
