Food radioactivity detector sought after

The radioactive particles were loaded into the carton and passed over the conveyor belt. A red cross appeared immediately on the display, and the red light on the top of the display simultaneously lighted. On the 6th, this detector at the 15th China International Industrial Exhibition Campus was highly sought after by the audience and received a large R & D and sales cooperation contract worth RMB 150 million from two Shanghai companies.

This instrument is called Conveyor Food Radioactivity Detector and it was developed by the scientific research team of Shanghai Institute of Applied Technology. Its appearance is like the security instrument in airports and subways. It is characterized by the ability to measure radioactive material content in bagged rice, boxed agricultural and sideline products, and aquatic products, and is particularly suitable for food testing in areas surrounding nuclear disasters. As one of the 660 participating projects in 66 universities and colleges of the current Industry and Trade Fair, the conveyor-type food radioactive detector is favored by domestic and foreign merchants with its advantages of mature technology, close to people's livelihood, and large market potential.
