Glass lifter principle and common faults

The glass lifter is a lifting device for automobile door and window glass, mainly divided into two categories of electric glass lifter and manual glass lifter. Single arm glass lifter:

The single-arm glass lifter has only one lift arm, which is the simplest structure. However, because the relative position between the bearing point of the lift arm and the glass center constantly changes, the glass lift type will produce tilt and hold-up. This structure is only applicable to both sides of the glass. For the case of parallel straight edges.

Double-arm glass lifter:

The structural characteristics of the double-armed glass lifter is that it has two lift arms, which are divided into a parallel arm lifter and a cross arm lifter according to the arrangement of the two arms. Compared with the single-arm glass lifter, the double-arm glass lifter itself can ensure the parallel movement of the glass, and the lifting force is also relatively large. Among them, the cross arm type glass lifter has a large support width and a relatively stable motion and is widely used.

After the street ignition switch, the door and window relays are closed by electric shock, the electric gate circuit is connected with the power supply, and the combination switch or sub switch is connected with the "upper" position, the current flows through the door and window motor, and the motor rotates to drive the lifter so that the door window glass rises; When the combination switch or the sub switch is connected to the “lower” position, the current flowing through the door and window motor changes direction, the direction of rotation of the motor is changed, and the lifter drives the door window glass to descend. When the window glass rises or falls to the end, the disconnect switch is turned off for a period of time and then returns to the on state.
