When the PT-7000 series is measuring DC or AC current, the measured object does not need to open the circuit. The current clamp can be used with multimeters and oscilloscopes. The current clamp can measure up to 1400A DC current and up to 980 A rms AC current (1400A peak). It is a very professional AC/DC current clamp!
The PT-7000 series has two gears, 140A (accuracy 10mV/A) and 1400A (accuracy 1mV/A). A reset button is set, and it has an automatic shutdown function to achieve energy-saving effects.
The usage method of PinTech PT7000 series AC and DC current probe is as follows:

Set the slide switch ⑦ to the appropriate position, 140A gear (accuracy 10 mV / A) or 1400A gear (accuracy 1mV / A). The green light ⑥ indicates that the operation is correct and the battery is in good condition. Clamp the measuring object for about 10 minutes without operating the control button, the power will be cut off automatically. Notice! The battery is less than 6.4V, the green light is flashing, and the battery needs to be replaced.
DC zero adjustment
Make sure that the jaws are closed and no conductors are attached. Connect the current clamp to the device you want to measure. Press button ④ to reset it to zero. The red light ⑤ lights up for about 3 seconds, indicating that the instrument has been reset to zero. If it cannot be reset to zero, this indicator light stays on, indicating that the instrument is malfunctioning.
Measurement
After turning on the current clamp, connect it to a measuring instrument within an appropriate range, and follow the operating steps. The measured object must meet the size of the jaw, and the current clamp clamps the measured device. When measuring DC current, make sure that the arrow on the outside of the jaw corresponds to the current direction of the object under test.

When the current of the measured object exceeds the measuring range of the current clamp, the red light is on. In the 140A gear, the peak current is 140A, and in the 1400A gear, the peak current is 1400A.
Automatic shut-down
The PT-7000 series is designed with an automatic shutdown function, and the current clamp will automatically shut down if there is no operation for 10 minutes after starting. After the current clamp is automatically closed, the control switch button must be set to the OFF position before starting again.
This function can be set by yourself, just press the auto-zero button and adjust the OFF position switch to the 1mV/A or 10mV/A position. If the green indicator light flashes, it indicates that the automatic shutdown function has been turned off.
