Japan's ethylene production rose 0.1% in March from a year earlier

The latest statistics released by the Japanese government’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on April 8 showed that although some ethylene production plants were closed after the March 11 earthquake, Japan’s ethylene production in March was still up 0.1% from the same period last year.

According to statistics, Japan’s ethylene production in March increased from 514,100 tons in the same period last year to 514,800 tons. Since Japan did not stop its production and maintenance of ethylene production facilities in February, Japan’s ethylene production in March fell by 15% compared with February. Japan produced 605,300 tons of ethylene in February.

According to statistics, Japan’s ethylene export volume in February decreased by 9.6% year-on-year and fell to 191,800 tons. In January, 21.13 million tons of ethylene were exported, and the number of ethylene exports in March has not yet been announced.
