Krones, Germany introduces a new generation of F1PET bottle filling machine

The front desk has become a thing of the past

The new front-end design makes it easy to locate the modular construction of different capping machines. New filling valve eliminates the need to lift the bottle. New decentralized filling component control system, new tubular ring cylinder. The Krones F1 filling machine breaks the tradition and is all new.

The front-end drive system of the F1 filling machine includes a flushing machine that can be combined with the unit. The rinsing machine and the filling machine, the filling machine and the capping machine are connected by a separate pin neck star wheel.

Really powerful technological innovation is based on the accumulation of experience and technical streamlining, and is subject to the principle of “Zen” teaching simplification. Under the influence of this, Krones AG of Neutraubling, Germany, developed a new filling machine called the F1 filling machine. The three main features of this filling machine are: The modular design with no front-end design, the newly designed filling system, and a new filling valve control system.

Star wheel replaces the front desk

The new F1 filling machine is designed for volumetric volumetric filling equipment for filling PET bottles. Thanks to the modular construction, different capper modules can be installed or removed without regard to the platen, so the platen is no longer used on the F1 filling machine. The drive system, including the flusher that may constitute the combined unit, also employs a front-end design. The rinsing machine and the filling machine, the filling machine and the capping machine are connected by a separate pin neck star wheel. These star wheels are mounted on a stainless steel column with a single servo drive. Each star wheel has a separate drive. A central controller is responsible for the electronic engagement of the drives. The star wheel and the servo motor mounted in the column together form a closed drive element.

The F1 filling machine without front-end drive solution does not require special maintenance. It has a simple cleaning process and a long service life. Residual beverages and cleaning agents can be discharged without hindrance and are hygienic in design.

Capper assembly can be expanded at will

The capper interface can be used to attach a new capper to an existing device at any time. For this purpose, Krones has developed pre-assembled capper modules, including electrical systems. The base of the modular capper is identical to the base of all spiral, aluminum and crown cappers.

The R1 bottle washer is also modular in construction. The design meets hygienic standards and looks great with the F1 filling machine. The bottle washer is also connected to the filling machine via a star wheel.

New valve can be moved out of the sleeve

The modular design of the F1 filling machine without front desk is an excellent technological innovation. But its innovation has to go even higher. So far, when filling a carbonated beverage, the bottle in the filling machine is sent to the filling valve by the lifting cylinder. The F1 filling machine is just the opposite. The necked star wheel transfers the bottles to the same level of height on the filling machine. The filling valve descends from above to the mouth of the bottle. In the case of a fixed suspension of the bottle, the newly developed filling valve relies on a movable extension sleeve.

The key to this technology is the newly developed eddy current machine. The vortexer does not use components that extend into the bottle, such as filling pipes or return pipes, but instead have a corresponding cone. The valve of the F1 filling machine feeds the filling liquid into the swirler and leads directly to the inner wall of the bottle. In this way, the bottle can be sealed without the need for an elastomeric seal.

Decentralized filling component control system

The third innovation that Krones uses on the F1 filling machine is the decentralized filling component control system. The F1 filling machine uses a separate control method for the filling components. Each workstation is equipped with a set of controls. The control unit is mounted directly on the filling valve and has a three-way control valve for all pneumatic control functions and the required electronics. The advantage of this design is that the reaction time is faster; the repetitive operation is higher; the air consumption is reduced while the filling accuracy is ensured. Designed to meet hygienic standards, this is the main feature of this F1 PET bottle filling machine with capacity measurement. Therefore, this filling machine is especially suitable for PET bottle filling production with or without steam soft drinks and mineral water.
