In October, the sales volume of all trucks in the market showed a month-on-month decline. The growth in the heavy-duty truck market was the most significant decline. Compared with the same period of last year, the heavy-duty truck market maintained high growth, and the growth of other segments was relatively stable. According to the statistics provided by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first 10 months of this year truck companies produced a total of 1,802,300 trucks, an increase of 26.49% year-on-year; and sales of 172,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 26.39%. Among them, 164,200 and 170,200 were produced and sold in October, an increase of 13.44% and 16.86% respectively, which was a decrease of 8.85% and 5.22% compared with September.
Heavy truck market slows down
The heavy-duty truck market continued its downward trend since the second half of the year. After sales fell to 40,000 units in the two months of July and August, production and sales in October fell below 40,000 again. According to statistics, the production and sales volume of heavy trucks in October was 35,700 vehicles and 37,800 vehicles respectively, which was a decrease of 4.29% and 6.20% respectively from September. In the heavy truck sales market from January to October, the heavy truck with a total mass of >32 tons has the fastest year-on-year growth, with an increase of 265.62% and cumulative sales of 0.17 million units; and 19 tons of heavy trucks with a total mass of ≤ 26 tons. In addition, it maintained the largest sales volume. From January to October, it sold a total of 37,100 vehicles; the 26-tonne heavy-duty truck with a total mass of ≤ 32 tons also achieved rapid growth. From January to October, it sold a total of 27,100 vehicles, an increase of 109.62% year-on-year. Among the top six companies, three companies have increased by more than 70% year-on-year, of which Foton and Shaanxi Auto have increased by 120.17% and 87.55% respectively year-on-year. In the corporate market rankings, Sinotruk sold 77,600 units, a year-on-year increase of 73.34%. Companies with over 10,000 sales included FAW (8.35 million units), Dongfeng (7.3 million units), Futian (.280 thousand units), Shaanxi Auto (49,900 units), SAIC Iveco Hongyan (20,900 units), and North Benz ( 13.7 million vehicles). China Card Market Share Unchanged
From January to October, the China Card market showed a steady decline, and the share of the overall truck market remained stable at 11%. According to the data, from January to October, the accumulated production of cards in the China Card amounted to 198,300, and the sales volume was 197,500, a year-on-year increase of 22.470% and 22.82% respectively. In October, the decline in the card market was more noticeable, with output (16,400 units) and sales (17,300 units) down 11.07% and 37.7% year-on-year, respectively, down 9.91% and 8.03% from September.
From the China Card Market segment, the total vehicle sales in the 10 ton trucks with a total quality of ≤12 tons fell significantly. From January to October, a total of 18,600 units were sold, representing a year-on-year decrease of 45.52%; 12 tons were less than the total quality of 14 tons or less. The total vehicle sales growth is relatively fastest. From January to October, a total of 6,800 vehicles were sold, a year-on-year increase of 10.30%.
In the card sales market, Dongfeng and FAW continue to maintain their leading edge. From January to October, Dongfeng and FAW respectively sold 61,700 vehicles and 51,100 vehicles, an increase of 26.44% and 13.51% year-on-year respectively. Chengdu Trump (16,900 units), Jianghuai (18,800 units) and Sichuan Southern County (10,200 units) are ranked three to five, of which Chengdu Trump's increased by 37.65% year-on-year. Light and micro-card market growth is stable
From January to October, sales of light and micro cards continued to grow steadily. From January to October, the light truck market produced and sold a total of 930,100 units and 921,800 units, a year-on-year growth of 19.54% and 18.78%; the total sales volume of micro-cards was 257,500 units and 260,400 units, an increase of 8.14% and 12.32% year-on-year respectively. From the perspective of the light-duty card segment, the light-duty trucks in the period from January to October with a total weight of ≤ 6 tons had a rapid growth rate of 58.58% year-on-year, and their accumulated sales volume was 108,600 units. In contrast, the light trucks with a sales volume of 1.8 tons and a total mass of ≤ 3.5 tons have a relatively stable growth rate of 19.23%, and their sales volume totals 747,400 units, accounting for 51.57% of the total sales of light trucks.
In the company's sales rankings, Foton has the advantage of accumulative sales of 268,600 units. In October, it sold 25,800 light trucks, a year-on-year increase of 14.37%. Dongfeng and JAC ranked second and third respectively, with sales of 101,100 units and 91,000 units respectively, an increase of 17.95% and 17.63% year-on-year. In October, they sold 0.89 million units and 0.85 million units respectively.
In the micro-card market, Changan, SAIC-GM-Wuling and Hafei took the top three positions. From January to October, cumulative sales were 64,500, 46,800 and 36,400 in sequence; sales in October were 0.64 million, respectively. 0.48 million and 0.26 million vehicles.
