In May 2012, Dalian Petrochemical officially initiated the project of upgrading petrol, including the construction of 2.25 million tons of catalytic gasoline hydrodesulfurization equipment and 1 million tons of light gasoline etherification equipment and supporting systems. The total investment is over 400 million yuan and gasoline sulfur can be used. The content decreased from 200ppm to 20ppm. In June of that year, the petrochemical quality upgrade project of Dalian Petrochemical started. It was completed on April 25 this year. Previously, Dalian Petrochemical produced more than 4 million tons of gasoline components each year, of which the catalytic gasoline with higher sulfur content accounted for more than 50%. After the project is put into production, the sulfur content of Dalian Petrochemical's catalytic gasoline can be reduced to less than 20ppm, and the gasoline produced by the company can all meet the national V standard.
