Pickup connection cable selection and wiring
The pickup can use a normal 4-wire telephone line, a Category 5 network twisted pair cable, a shielded/unshielded signal cable, and the like. Considering the complex construction environment, it is recommended to use a 0.5mm2 cross-section 3-core signal cable (commonly used 3×0.5 RVVP cable).
There are two types of power supply for pickups:
1. Independent power supply (recommended power supply), the signal is transmitted with 2×0.5 RVVP cable.
2, centralized power supply (concentrated power supply in the machine room), with 3 × 0.5 RVVP core cable, respectively, power supply, audio signal positive, public ground. Shielded cables can be used in electromagnetic complex environments, and the shield is connected to the equipment ground at one end. That is, the shielding net at one end of the pickup (pickup) is suspended, and the shielding net of the device end is connected to the equipment ground (the casing). Note: When wiring, separate the wires, do not use the same cable slot with strong current such as AC, and try to stay away from strong electromagnetic interference equipment such as transformers and lamp rectifiers.
How to choose a power supply
When installing, consider the power efficiency and line loss. Try to use a power supply with a higher nominal value. The DC regulated power supply referred to here is a commonly known "line type transformer", which is generally composed of a power transformer, a rectifier diode, a filter capacitor, and an integrated voltage regulator. Try not to use a switching power supply, it can cause a lot of circuit noise! Many switching power supplies on the market have poor quality and a very large ripple factor, which can cause the pickup to hum.
What is a switching power supply? Simply put: the switching type DC stabilized power supply is an automatic regulated power supply composed of an electronic switch tube and an electronic switch oscillator. For example, a common desktop computer power supply is a switching power supply.
