· SAIC passenger car broke through 500,000 new bases throughout the year to help 2018
A few days ago, the SAIC passenger car's own brand officially announced the latest sales data of SAIC passenger cars Roewe and MG. The total sales of new cars exceeded 520,000, a year-on-year increase of 62%, an increase of nearly 200,000 over 2016. In 2017, SAIC's new products for the Internet products sold nearly 400,000 new cars; SAIC's new energy vehicles also sold more than 60,000 units, up 140% year-on-year.
In terms of specific models, the stable performance of the Roewe RX5, the star product of SAIC's passenger car, is the biggest contributor to SAIC's passenger car sales. The fuel version Roewe RX5, plug-in hybrid Roewe eRX5, pure electric Roewe ERX5 three arrows Qifa has made its sales in the past few months stable at around 25,000.
In addition to the Roewe RX5, the two new cars Roewe i6 and MG ZS listed in the first half of this year also have some good performance. The sales of Roewe i6 have been stable for six or seven thousand vehicles in the first half of the year, and the monthly sales of MG ZS is close to 10,000.
As the brothers of the MG ZS and the Roewe i6, the Roewe RX3 and the new MG6 undoubtedly show greater market potential. Among them, the new MG6 has exceeded 6,000 orders in two weeks, and the order for 26 days has exceeded 10,000. It is hard to find a car on the market. The Roewe RX3 went on the market for 15 days and the sales volume reached 7,500 units. Although these two cars don't contribute much to the overall sales of SAIC passenger cars in 2017, there is no doubt that they will become the growth point of SAIC passenger car sales in 2018.
It is worth mentioning that in 2017, SAIC MG sold more than 12,000 vehicles in the Thai market, an increase of more than 50% year-on-year. Among them, the Internet SUV MG ZS landed in Thailand and has more than 3,000 orders, making it one of the most active automobile brands in Thailand.
In addition, SAIC Group also actively promoted the global layout, established four production and R&D bases in the UK, Thailand, Indonesia and India, and built nearly 500 overseas marketing service outlets. At the same time, the products have entered the developed markets such as the UK, the US and Australia in batches.
Another good news was also reported in the production capacity layout. On January 2, 2018, SAIC Group officially launched the second phase project of its own brand Zhengzhou Base. The project covers an area of 1,600 mu and will officially put into operation a number of Roewe and MG brand products in 2020, with an annual output of 600,000 units. The launch of the second phase of Zhengzhou Base has further improved the industrial layout of SAIC's own brands Shanghai Lingang, Nanjing Pukou and Zhengzhou Economic Development Base. The overall annual output of SAIC's three independent bases will exceed 2020. 1.2 million vehicles.
According to the previous plan of SAIC, from 2018 to 2020, SAIC will launch more than 10 new vehicles, covering various segments such as MPV, SUV, sedan, SUV and new energy, to meet the diversified needs of the automotive market. . Among them, the Roewe light wing pure electric coupe accelerates only 100 seconds in 100 kilometers, and the pure electric driving range exceeds 500 kilometers.
Looking back at 2017, there is no doubt that SAIC's autonomous passenger car has become the most important growth point for SAIC in 2017. Looking forward to 2018, whether it is product layout or capacity layout, SAIC's self-owned passenger cars are clearly well prepared.
