The reporter learned that in recent years, the Lanzhou Water Pump Plant has organized scientific research and technology forces, aimed at market demand and industry-leading technologies, continuously increased new product research and development efforts and investment, and achieved gratifying results. The new product "1400S type pump" developed by the Lanzhou Water Pump Plant itself and the largest in its kind in China has an import diameter of 1.4 meters and a height of 3.7 meters, with a total weight of nearly 30 tons. Previously, large pumps of this type that were supported in domestic thermal power projects were imported from abroad, and currently only a few companies in China have the ability to produce this type of products. In the first half of this year, after investigating the domestic product technology, the 300 MW thermal power project investor in Xinjiang customized two large 1400S pumps to the Lanzhou Water Pump Plant. Affected by this, Lanzhou Pump Factory's sales orders in the first half of this year increased by 50% compared with the same period of last year. The contract task has been scheduled for the first quarter of 2012, hitting a record high in the same period.

The industry believes that the successful development of the 1400S large pump is the first time that large-scale domestic pumps have entered the 300 megawatt thermal power engineering equipment, marking the technological leadership position of “Made in Lanzhou” in the national pump industry.
