Denso intends to build a hybrid vehicle electronic components evaluation center in Japan

In March 2013, Japan Denso Group announced that it will spend 11.5 billion yen (about US$126 million) to build an evaluation center in Japan to enhance its R&D capabilities for power electronic products such as hybrid vehicle inverters .

The evaluation center will be built at Denso's plant site in Anjo, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The construction date is March 1 this year. It is expected to be completed by the end of November this year and is scheduled to be put into operation in April 2014.

Masahiko Miyaki, senior executive director of the Denso Control System Business Group, said that after the new assessment center is put into operation, it will be used to evaluate the performance of power electronics products and conduct research and development work on the next generation of parts and components.

The Denso Anjo factory was built in 1967. The factory area is 554,000 square meters, of which the building area is 232,000 square meters. The plant employs more than 2,700 people and mainly produces starters and engines for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles.
