Effect of feldspar and albite on the refractoriness of kaolin
Sodium feldspar (Fig. 6) When kaolin acts, the refractoriness of kaolin decreases with the increase of feldspar, and its refractoriness ranges from 1770 °C for pure kaolin to 1220 °C for pure feldspar. That is to say, each feldspar can reduce the refractoriness of kaolin to about 5.5'C. With this rule in place, it is possible to use feldspar and kaolin to formulate a billet formulation of the desired firing temperature. The action of albite and kaolin is similar to that of potassium feldspar, but it has a greater cooling effect. It can reduce the refractoriness of kaolin to 1770 °C to 1100 °C of albite.
