According to the latest plan announced by Futian, the car will become a new force in the next few years.

To establish a joint venture with Daimler at the end of March

At the 2010 annual business meeting just concluded by Futian, Wang Jinyu, General Manager of Foton Motor, stated that in the next 10 years, Foton will complete another great leap with its unique "Fukuda speed" - from a well-known Chinese brand to a world brand.

It is understood that at the end of March this year, Foton will formally form a joint venture with Daimler. Wang Jinyu said: "The establishment of this company will enhance the premium ability of Futian products."

In fact, cooperation with Daimler is an important step for Fukuda to go global. It is understood that at the same time as the establishment of a joint venture in China, Foton will also establish a Foton European research and development center in Stuttgart, Germany, with a total investment of 50 million euros, mainly engaged in the research and development of commercial vehicles and cars.

Wang Jinyu said: "On this basis, in 2014, Foton will launch its A-class and B-class platform cars designed and developed at the German R&D center."

According to industry insiders, in fact, the cooperation with Daimler in commercial vehicles and the establishment of a research and development center in Germany will make Futian's overall R&D and product strength more international, especially for its entry into the car market. basis.

R&D costs double in the next two years

Last year, Foton was the first to announce the “2020” plan. According to this strategy, by 2020, Foton Motors will have sales of more than 4 million vehicles worldwide, sales revenue of more than 400 billion yuan, and profits of more than 20 billion yuan, respectively, corresponding to 2009. 6.6 times, 9 times and 12 times of the business indicators; then Foton Motor will complete the global market and industrial layout, overseas sales account for 30% of total sales, have world-class business scale and world-class enterprise development capabilities, and become a world-renowned car brand , and entered the top ten of the world's automotive companies.

The "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" was the beginning of this plan. Foton Motor planned five key industries, including automotive and new energy vehicles, automotive internet of things, financial services and heavy machinery. In addition, during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, Foton Motor will also focus on building eight major projects, including the construction of the Foton Automotive Global Innovation Center in Beijing, the new energy-saving heavy-card digital factory of Auman GTL in Beijing (HuaiRou), and Beijing (Miyun) Automobile factory, Beijing Foton Lissa crane branch, Beijing (Changping) GDI petrol engine factory, Weifang multi-purpose automobile factory, Changsha automobile factory and Nanhai automobile factory European V passenger car factory.

According to Wang Jinyu, in 2011, Foton Motor’s investment in these eight major projects will exceed 7 billion yuan, and by the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan, the total investment will reach 12 billion yuan. Among them, in research and development, Futian's investment in the next two years will increase at least doubled.

Wang Jinyu said: "It is expected that by the end of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, the annual sales of Foton Motor will exceed 1.8 million units, with a business income of over 170 billion yuan and a business profit of 10 billion yuan."
