A liquefied gas explosion occurred in a residential home in the neighborhood, causing a seventy-year old man to be burned by the flames, causing damage to the doors and windows of two households and two vehicles.

At 10 o'clock yesterday, when the reporter arrived at the scene, it was seen that the explosion occurred in Room 101, Unit 3, Building 59. The iron guardrail on the balcony of the exploding room fell to the ground and the window glass was completely shattered. The entire fan aluminum alloy window on the balcony of the door 102 room fell off, and the unit security door was bent and deformed.

Neighbors gathered downstairs said that the explosion occurred in the early hours of the morning and they were awakened when they were asleep. It was evident that there was a brief trembling in the building. Ms. Li said, “I thought it was an earthquake at the time.”

The 74-year-old Li Aniang was crouching in the quilt and was still shocked by the residents of the house where the explosion occurred. Fortunately, the old man was not injured. The reporter learned that there has been no pipeline gas in the building, and households in the entire building can only use liquefied gas cylinders.

According to doctors, Qiu Yuliang’s body is 24% burned and is still at risk. The old man’s son stated that his father had cerebral thrombosis. After the incident, he could not explain the specific cause of the explosion. “My analysis may have been caused by a leakage of a liquefied gas cylinder or a connecting hose. It was as if my father had turned on the light. Then it exploded."
